Welcome to your Wilderness First Aid Training!

This highly experiential 16-hour class is for anyone who wants to learn how to handle emergency medical situations in the backcountry. It covers basic wilderness first aid topics such as: patient assessment, shock and bleeding, head and spinal injuries, wounds, heat and cold illnesses and much more.

Wilderness First Aid certification from Foster Calm available after successful completion of the course and wilderness exam.

The course is instructed by Katryna Anderson with Fostercalm. The curriculum for the course meets the highest standards in wilderness medicine, wilderness first response, and wilderness first aid training. Contact Katryna if you have questions about the curriculum.

Note on COVID-19: Protocols will be in place including the required use of masks and social distancing. Skills will be practiced outdoors on the patio.

Bay Area Wilderness Training Course Cancellation Policy: Cancellations for the WFA course received less than 30 days prior to the first day of the workshop allow for no refund. If you need to cancel, please contact your instructor Bobbie Foster at bobbie@fostercalm.org to discuss options for your cancellations. If cancellation occurs prior to 30 days before the first day of the workshop, then you will be granted a 75% refund for the course.
