Guidelines of the Richard Louv Mini-Grant Program:
Funds will be allocated in grants of $250 each. In reviewing grant applications, the Program Committee generally considers many factors. First-time leaders, or first-time leaders of a new type of trip, are generally preferred. Additionally preference is given to applicants that work for organizations that serve youth that lack opportunities to explore the natural world. Grant applications will be reviewed and approved on a rolling basis. Funds can be used by youth organizations to cover the costs of the approved outdoor trip. Funds will be disbursed upon submission of receipts showing use of funds. All organizations receiving a grant must submit a one-page narrative, receipts, and a trip report within 2 weeks following their trip. Five photos and photo release waivers are additionally required, if allowed by your organization.
